Writing Prompt: New Year

It has to be said, 2010 was not my best year. There was a lot of change, some good, some not so good. The positive thing I have to take from a year of turbulence is that I’ve tested myself in several ways and discovered some reserves of strength I didn’t think I had. I also figured out who my real friends are. The importance of knowing who you can trust and lean on is not to be underestimated.

So, what does this year have in store for me? More change, more uncertainty, but this time, I’m better prepared and ready to charge ahead to make this year a good one. I also know who I want at my side as I develop work, art, and new experiences. I realise I’m being a bit vague, but what I’m trying to get at is that when you sit down to make your new year’s resolution list, don’t limit yourself to “joining a gym” or “reading 50 books”. Start with little things that are going to make life better and maybe one big one.

If I had to list only one thing I’m going to achieve this year, it’s going to be to throw my energy into a new venture and make it a success.

(Also want to read more – see the new book list).

Anyway, all gibberish aside, here is your mission. Write every day. 5 minutes or an hour, but write something! Get a journal and fill it with the random ramblings of your heart. Good luck for 2011.

Cheers!
