Writing Prompt: The thing in the closet

When we’re kids, we have active imaginations, in most cases, more active than as adults. We imagine all sorts of creepy crawlies, monsters in the attic and things with sharp claws waiting to grab our ankles when we step off our beds.

What was your monster in the closet? Write about childhood fears and how they can have an impact on a child’s mind. What happens if a child voices that fear to their parents, siblings or friends? Is there a stigma attached to being afraid of something either real or imagined?
