The new year is here and unlike other years where I make resolutions and wishes for things I want to change, I haven’t done any of that. I know that things are going to change this year and mainly through the actions of the last few months. New job, new friends, new projects, possible new home. It’s all moving along, so I think that’s enough.
It’s funny, but I don’t think there is a single resolution I’ve ever made and managed to keep. The only thing that has come close is he creation and upkeep of my reading list, so I’m keeping that one. (new list to follow).
Don’t get me wrong. I think resolutions are good things. It”s empowering to have things you want to achieve or change for the better. So, go for it. Write your resolutions, focus on one and write not so much about what you want to do, but why.
The alternative for this prompt is to write about New Year’s Eve. There is always so much expectation for the night and the moments leading up to the new year. Write about how you spent not just this one, but any others that stand out in your memory. Who was there, what you did, anything that caught your attention or what you saw when the clock struck twelve.
Happy New Year and good luck.
